SYSOP DOC
RISK-IT2 is a program written for kids 6 to 12. 2 to 6 kids may play. The
Shareware version allows access to only 6 commands.
It has an automatic dice shaker, and automatic timer, a CHANCE option, and
normal timer function, exactly 132 different commands, declares a winner
automatically when all but 1 person is eliminated, allows commands to be
refused, but if you refuse 3 commands, you are given an ultimatum to either
perform a specific action, (in which case your refusals are irradicated) or
to be removed from the game. It allows the entering of players names, and then
they are referred to, by name, in the game. Neither the 44 pairs of commands
used as initial timer commands, nor the 44 individual CHANCE commands, will
repeat during any one game. If all 44 PAIRS of commands are accessed, players
are made aware of this fact, and given the opportunity to re-play, or to quit.
Both the PAIRS of commands, and the CHANCE commands are totally RANDOM in their
selection, so it is not a predictable game, in any way.
The players are asked to have certain items on hand to play the game, such as
ice cubes, small paintbrush, toy telephone, blindfold, wig, playing cards, dice
etc. and then they are asked to do certain things, carry out a command, or
allow things to be done to them.
Some beeps and whistles, and a bit of computer music is also present. Lots of
good colored screens, and dice shaking sound effects.
A very compact and complete program. The game has no directories, so using the
-D switch, when unzipping, is not required.
To install, simply unzip it, write all of the files into a directory of your
choice and go to that directory and type [ RISK-IT2 ], and you are off and
running.
Docs are all "on line", and accessible from the first screen of the game.
It is a coded game. This means that, when the user registers it, and gives us
his telephone number, I will call him, give him the secret code, tell him when
and where to enter it, and they will immediately have the registered version,
without having to wait for it in the mail.
Because the game was written in quickbasic, it is suggested that it be run
from the hard drive, where it is much smoother and faster. It will run just
fine from a floppy also, but slower, and at times a bit jerky, which really
does not affect the play of the game.
The following files should be present to have a full set. If any are missing
then the user must contact me at Util-Disks, for a complete set of files, at
no charge.
42 files total.
SYSOP.DOC (this file)
RISK-IT2.DOC (doc info)
REGISTER.TXT (reg info
E-DOC.BIN (interactive binary file)
And the following 38 files with the RISK-IT2 prefix, and the following extensions.
EXE, MFC, RR1, RR2, RR3, RR4, RR5, RR6, RR7, RR8, RR9, R10, R11, R12, REG, ENT,
OOP, OP1, OP2, OP3, OP4, OP5, OP6, NAM, MUS, END, EN2, DIE, REF, WIN, REF, DID,
WAR, WR2, NOT, OVR, RF2 and RF3.
Being that the game can be played by 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 people.
Two can play it as a single couple, as the routines will adapt for that, in
most cases.
If the user is a bit of a programer, or knows how to change and compile
quickbasic programs, they can purchase the source code (RISK-IT2.BAS file),
and they can then put in their own commands if they would like. In order to
do this they will need the QUICKBASIC program, and to alter any of the screens,
they will need a menu program that I can only identify as MM2, a MENUMAKER
program that has been around for some time now.
ENJOY!
